Description

3000HDF HDF Mist Eliminator™

The ZEKS HDF Mist Eliminator™ is a deep-bed filtration solution designed to remove oil and water mist from compressed air—helping protect downstream tools, dryers, and critical processes. Compared with conventional coalescing filtration, HDF Mist Eliminators™ are engineered for ultra-low pressure drop and very long element service life to reduce operating cost over time.

Key Specs

  • Product family — HDF Mist Eliminator™
  • Rated capacity — 3000 SCFM @ 100 psig (range 1690–4310 SCFM from 50–150 psig)
  • Connection size — 4" FLG
  • Drain connection size — 1" FPT
  • Shipping weight (housing) — 1385 lbs
  • Replacement element weight — 160 lbs
  • Dimensions (D × E × F × G) — 24.0 × 16.9 × 88.8 × 18.0 in
  • Maximum operating temperature — 220°F

Standard Features

  • Deep-bed mist elimination — Captures oil and water aerosols through direct interception, inertial impaction, and Brownian movement within a robust media bed.
  • High filtration efficiency — Particle removal to 0.5 ppm by weight; >3 micron: 100% efficiency; 0.1–3 micron: 99.98% efficiency.
  • Oil mist reduction — Typical performance: 2 ppm IN → 0.01 ppm OUT; 10 ppm IN → 0.05 ppm OUT.
  • Ultra-low pressure drop — Designed to maintain low restriction over long element life; typically ~6 psid less system pressure drop vs conventional filtration (application dependent).
  • Long element life — Typical 10–15 year element service life with minimal maintenance.
  • Downstream protection — Helps protect air treatment and process equipment in the event of catastrophic compressor oil separator failure.
  • Element warranty — 36-month element warranty.

Recommended Placement

  • Use with refrigerated dryers — Typically install after the dryer to capture remaining oil aerosols before the air enters plant piping. If the compressor consumes excessive oil, consider installing ahead of the dryer to reduce oil buildup in the dryer.
  • Use with desiccant dryers — Install ahead of the dryer to protect desiccant media from oil contamination.

Notes:

  • Coalescing efficiency is reduced as temperature rises. Consult factory when inlet temperature exceeds 125°F.
  • Sizing: select the inlet pressure column and choose a capacity that meets or exceeds required SCFM (interpolate if needed).
  • Not intended for breathing air applications.
