Description
Altec AIR HRL000 Heatless Desiccant Air Dryer
The Altec AIR HRL Series consists of high-capacity regenerative (heatless) desiccant air dryers designed to meet the needs of the industrial compressed air market. Model HRL-1000-1 is rated for 1000 SCFM @ 100 PSIG.
Standard equipment includes ASME / CRN approved pressure vessels, factory installed filters with differential pressure gauges and a pre-filter timer drain, E-Z switching valves for extreme valve life, and an ETL listed Pro-Logic controller with a NEMA 4 enclosure. Regulated purge flow helps maintain optimum settings regardless of operating pressure, and -40°F/C outlet dew point air is standard.
Key Features
- -40°F/C outlet dew point: ISO 8573.1 Class 2 -40°F/C standard outlet dewpoint.
- ASME / CRN pressure vessels: ASME / CRN approved pressure vessels.
- Integrated filtration: Factory installed filters with differential pressure gauges and pre-filter timer drain.
- Long-life switching valves: E-Z switching valves for extreme valve life.
- Industrial controller enclosure: ETL listed Pro-Logic controller with NEMA 4 enclosure.
- Regulated purge flow: Regulated purge flow for optimum setting, regardless of operating pressure.
- Power requirements: 120 VAC, 1 phase, 60 Hz.
- Bypass & Dual Filter Kit (9): 9-Way & dual selectable pre-filter & post-filter.

- Consistent purge settings: Regulated purge flow helps maintain optimum settings regardless of operating pressure.
- Temperature protection option: Environment temperature protection kit is included on this configuration.
Installation & Application Notes
- Sizing is based on the Compressed Air and Gas Institute (CAGI) ADF 200 Standard for compressed air at 100 PSIG inlet pressure and 100°F inlet temperature with a -40°F pressure dew point.
- For inlet pressures other than 100 PSIG, maximum inlet flow (-40°F/C PDP) = INLET Flow × INLET Flow Factor (A) at actual pressure (see multiplier table).
- 150 PSIG is standard maximum inlet pressure; for inlet pressures that exceed the HRL standard input, contact Altec AIR for assistance.
The Altec AIR HRL000 is a heatless desiccant air dryer configuration rated for 1000 SCFM @ 100 PSIG with approximately 150.00 SCFM purge and 3" (FLG) connections.
Frequently Asked Questions
Altec AIR HRL000 Heatless Desiccant Air Dryer
▶️ Question: What inlet conditions is the HRL flow rating based on?
Answer: Sizing is based on the CAGI ADF 200 Standard for compressed air at 100 PSIG inlet pressure and 100°F inlet temperature with a -40°F pressure dew point.
▶️ Question: How do I size for inlet pressures other than 100 PSIG?
Answer: Use the multiplier table: maximum inlet flow (-40°F/C PDP) = INLET Flow × INLET Flow Factor (A) at your actual inlet pressure.
▶️ Question: What do the 3 / 6 / 9 bypass & dual filter kit codes mean?
Answer: 3 = 3-Way. 6 = 6-Way & dual selectable pre-filter. 9 = 9-Way & dual selectable pre-filter & post-filter.
▶️ Question: What do the L and L1 environment temperature protection codes mean?
Answer: L = outdoor low ambient kit -20°F. L1 = indoor low ambient kit.
