Improving Reliabilty Of Aichi's Compressed Air SystemWhen Greg Slone and Paul Toney were brought in to improve the reliability of the compressed air system at Aichi it was apparent they had inherited a monumental task. The air compressors and air dryers were reaching the end of their useful life and the current service company was not providing the expertise and support required to keep the equipment operating at a high level. Eddie Compton of Industrial Air Centers was brought in to evaluate the compressor system and make recommendations to get performance back up to expectations. IAC quickly prepared a plan to have veteran Service Technicians evaluate, tune and service the equipment. IAC also supported the compressed air needs of the plant with rental compressors so maintenance could be carried out correctly and professionally during normal day shift hours. Almost immediately, the Aichi team documented the improved performance and reliability of the compressed air system. The IAC service department continues to look for ways to partner with Aichi to develop a continuous improvement plan for air compressors and all related equipment. |
